Frequently Asked Questions
-
Bridal consignment means we offer wedding gowns that are either brand new or previously worn once, at a fraction of traditional bridal store prices.
Each dress is carefully reviewed for quality, condition, and style so our brides can find something beautiful, timeless, and unique without compromising on the experience.
-
Our gowns are consignment-based, which means prices vary depending on the gown’s designer, style, and condition. Most dresses currently fall in the $500–$1,200 range, with some falling above and below that, but all under $2,000, giving brides access to a wide variety of styles and price points.
What sets us apart is the chance to find truly special gowns, including high-end designers like Saint Bridal or Atelier Pronovias, at a price that makes them accessible. Many of our brides save 30–70% while discovering a one-of-a-kind dress that’s just right for them.

No — appointments are not required to shop for your gown during our regular store hours. Walk-in shopping allows you to browse our collection and try on dresses at your own pace. A Something Borrowed team member will be available to assist with clipping and general questions, though this is not a private or personalized appointment, as our staff may be assisting multiple shoppers at once.
Saturdays are our busiest walk-in days. If you plan to try on gowns during Saturday walk-in hours, we recommend bringing just one guest and being prepared for a possible wait for a fitting room. You can also explore veils, mother-of-the-bride dresses, and bridal celebration outfits while you wait.
For brides who prefer a more personalized, distraction-free experience, bridal appointments are available outside of regular store hours.

Our inventory spans a wide range of bridal sizes, with availability changing frequently as one-of-a-kind gowns arrive and sell. Because we carry individual pieces rather than full size runs, sizing can vary from week to week. Because inventory is constantly changing, we recommend reaching out to see what is available in your size.
As a general guideline, wedding dresses are typically sized 1–2 sizes larger than everyday street clothing. For example, a bride who wears a street size 10 will often shop in bridal sizes 12–14. Formalwear tends to run smaller. It’s not you, it’s the gown. We always encourage brides not to focus on the number, but on how the dress feels and fits with the right adjustments.

We do not offer in-house alterations. However, we can recommend talented people for you to work with!

We carry a rotating selection of well-known designers as well as unique, lesser-known labels. Our styles range from classic and romantic to modern and minimalist. Because inventory is constantly changing, no two visits are ever the same.
-
In addition to wedding gowns, we offer a curated selection of veils, shoes, and bridal accessories to complete your look. For the events surrounding your wedding day, we also carry outfits perfect for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and bachelorette celebrations.
For family members and friends of the bride, we offer a mix of new and gently used bridesmaid gowns and mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom dresses.
